Another day, another drug bust for Queensland police.
Following yesterday's discovery of a $450 million marijuana farm on the Southern Downs, tactical police have today swooped on two properties on the Sunshine Coast, seizing hundreds of ecstasy tablets, LSD and more cannabis.
Seven people have been arrested and charged over the latest - unrelated - discovery following separate raids in Maroochydoore and Buderim.
In one, officers from the Sunshine Coast District Tactical Crime Squad were forced to fish down a sewer pipe after a man allegedly tried to flush a cannabis stash down the toilet.
Police allegedly also found 200 ecstasy tablets, nine LSD tablets, speed and drug utensils at the Maroochydore unit.
A further kilogram of cannabis was uncovered during a subsequent search of a house at Buderim.
Two women, aged 24 and 27, have been charged with drug offences, while five men, aged 21 to 39, were also charged.
Senior police said they expected the swoop would have a "significant" impact on the Sunshine Coast's illegal drug trade.
