The Jumbucks defeated the Wattles five rubbers to two, while the Wallabies defeated their big brothers the Roos four rubbers to two. The match between the Matildas and Emus resulted in a three all draw, the result will depend on the out-come of a delayed match between Rachael Norman and Joel Frankham.
Nydean Felstead gave a good account for herself against Andrew McKenzie, match fitness giving Andrew the last game to win three games to two, 66 points to 63.
Newcomer Steve Irwin is proving to be a worthy player, using his speed around the court to win against Ted Lewandowski three games to two, 61 points each. Peter Rickard and Stu Brotherton had an arm wrestle before Stu managed a three game to two win, the last game going to him 16 points to 15.
Overall points 66 to 61. Jim Burdett and Angus Wilson featured in another long duel, Angus winning the first two games 16 points to 14, Jim won the next two games, but Angus then winning the final game 15 points to 11 and the match three games to two, 63 points to 69. Greg Davies and Felicity Carrigan each scored 65 points in their match, with Felicity winning the points that mattered most, winning three games to two.
For the Matildas Brad Taylor defeated Russell Jessee three games to two, 64 points to 61.
Veteran Paul McNulty and youngster Stuart Scudamore had a battle royal right to the last winning shot, which went to Stuart taking the final game 16 points to 15 and the match three games to two and only two points separating them 65 to 63.
Matthew Galvin and Lucy White had a long match, the final game going to Lucy 16 points to 15, and the match three games to two, total points 67 for Matthew and 64 to Lucy.
Tom Gibson is getting back into the game and showing up his old skills before going down to Ally Spicer three games to two, 60 points to 62. Michelle Klein gave young Anthony Driver a lesson in court craft verses speedy youth, winning her match three games to two.
Players are reminded that if they are not available on the Tuesday night, they should arrange with their opponent a suitable alternate time to play or arrange a substitute as soon as possible so that matches can be completed.
During the school holidays a number of youngsters visited the Squash Centre and enjoyed themselves learning to play squash.
