A resolution passed at a recent meeting that could see Queensland Racing CEO Bob Bentley and other members of that committee remain in office until around 2018 with changes to the constitution has been challenged by retired judge Bill Carter.

The matter was referred to Treasurer and racing minister Andrew Fraser. Andrew who immediately flicked it to the CMC who then passed it on to the Australian Securities and Investment Commission. Interesting times ahead.

Randwick trainers not happy with new executive director of Randwick Racing Richard Freedman.

They have passed a vote of “no confidence” in him after being presented with a new lease agreement with increased costs for stabling without any consultation on the matter.

Freedman who reportedly receives about $400,000 a year has a radio show and is also a regular panelist on the Racing Retro show on SKY. He does come across as pretty arrogant at times.

Now four year -old stallion owners will be hoping he can string a few together and with plenty of publicity endeavour to sell the stallion. John Messara is a part owner.

Champion sprinter Takeover Target came out of quarantine last week. He sustained a tear in a suspensory ligament when beaten in his last run in the United Kingdom after looking the winner before suffering the injury. Trainer Joe Janiak is reported as saying it’s not a bad tear and rest should see a complete recovery.

“Wives are smart alecs,” Rather Rotund Resident of Baker Street lamented to Drinking Partner. “At the Marriage Counselor the other day, he said to the Missus, ‘Does your husband exercise?’ and she said, ‘ Oh yes. Most weeks he’s out 3 or 4 nights running.’”
