‘Weapon Head’ set to blast The Pit

18/06/2008 9:36:00 AM
Goondiwindi band Weapon Head is going back to where it all began when the boys launch their new EP at The Snake Pit at the Queensland Hotel on Friday night.

Their second album builds on the success of their first release “Slave Free”, which sold 1000 copies and was widely played on radio stations Now FM and Triple J.

It’s been a meteroic rise for the boys from Goondiwindi.

In September 2007 they were invited to America to open up for Heaven and Hell, a concert which included rock legends (Black Sabbath with Ronnie James Dio on vocals), Alice Cooper and Queensryche.

The band received amazing exposure through an online submission to the legendary Locobazooka Festival, held in Mansfield Massachusetts.

They’ve been even busier in 2008. The band has hard at work writing new material for their next recording when they gained the interest of guru producer Steve James.

Steve has worked with The Sex Pistols, Airbourne, The Angels, Cold Chisel, The Screaming Jets and the list goes on.

Once the album was recorded tracks were put up on the website Myspace page and within three weeks they had more than 3000 hits.

Don’t miss them when they play at the Pit on Friday night from 8.30pm.

There will be full light show on the night. Doors open at 8.30. Special guest Will Day is the opening act.

Weapon Head thanked the creative talents of Goondiwindi’s Danielle Wallace who designed the album cover.
