Lavender farmers produce the sweet smell of success

Inglewood lavender growers Matthew and Kellie Oxenford are celebrating this week after their oil won first prize at the annual Australian Lavender Growers Association conference.

The event was held in Mudgee NSW earlier this month and this is the third time the Oxenfords have won the prestigious trophy.

The competition is held annually to encourage members to achieve proficiency in both scientific and olfactory analysis.

Lavandula angustifolia oils are considered as ‘perfume’ grade oils, with low camphor and a sweet, honey perfume. Matthew and Kellie said the award has confirmed that Leven K Lavender is one of the top quality lavender oil producing businesses in Australia.

Leven K Lavender is open between November and February, Thursday to Sunday, 10a.m to 4pm.

Groups are welcome by appointment at any time of the year. To visit at other times or for enquiries about their award winning lavender essential oil phone Kellie or Matthew on 07 46521925.
