Goondiwindi Police have taken part in raids which has netted more than $90,000 in drugs.
Police made raids on numerous properties throughout the region including Goondiwindi, Yelarbon and Texas.
“Operation Thornbill” was conducted by detectives from Goondiwindi CIB, Warwick CIB, Stanthorpe CIB, with assistance from State Crime Operations Command Drug Squad members, and officers from Goondiwindi, Yelarbon, Inglewood, Texas, Stanthorpe, and Clifton.
The raids took place between June 11 and June 13.
The raids were conducted after tip-offs from the public.
“This very pleasing result will impact significantly on the supply of dangerous drugs within the region,” Goondiwindi Det Sgt Joe Hildred said.
More than 10kg of cannabis was found during searches of 36 premises.
Six people were arrested in Goondiwindi. Charges laid included possession of utensils, possession of a dangerous drug, fail to dispose of a needle and possession of an unlicensed weapon.
Two people were arrested in Yelarbon.
Charges laid included possession of a utensil and possession of a dangerous drug.
One man was arrested in Inglewood.
He was charged with possession of a dangerous drug and possession of a utensil.
